Peelander-Z invades KJHK for rare acoustic in-studio set

Japanese garage rock band Peelander-Z stopped by the KJHK shack last Friday afternoon over spring break to perform a rare acoustic set. Based out of New York City, the self-proclaimed "Japanese Action Comic Punk" band came by for their third appearance at KJHK. The group is well lknown in hte underground music scene for their animated on-stage demeanor, their colorful DIY power ranger meets pro wrestling costumes, and their ability to connect with their audiences, demanding nothing less than full interaction with the crowds at each show. Below is a snippet from their live set inside the KJHK shack. Peelander Yellow is on acoustic guitar (courtesy of Program Director Zach White) with P-Red, Blue and Green backing up on clanging pots.

Later on that night, Peelander-Z performed at the Jackpot in front of an energetic crowd that took to their antics like airplane glue to a third-grader.
